Job Training

Skills. Practice. Employment.
The Ottawa Mission operates two distinct, free job training programs for those who at risk of homelessness, or who are searching for new opportunities and pathways to stability.
Applicants must demonstrate only one qualification to be considered for acceptance: a strong desire to change their lives for the better.
The Food Services Training Program
The Food Services Training Program (FSTP), is a free Ottawa Mission job training program that provides the skills and certifications needed to work in a commercial kitchen.
Students are taught culinary theory, learn hands-on with chef instructors, gain workplace experience, and receive tailored support to find lasting employment upon graduation.

The Maintenance Services Training Program
The Maintenance Services Training Program (MSTP), is a free Ottawa Mission job training program that provides the skills and certifications needed to work as a building superintendent or maintenance worker.
Students learn trades-based skills, gain hands-on workplace experience, and receive tailored support to find lasting employment upon graduation.
