Providing barrier-free healthcare

Primary, dental, eye, hospice, and specialized care

The Ottawa Mission’s DYMON Health Clinic removes barriers to care and meets the healthcare needs of vulnerable people living in the community or in our shelter who struggle to access quality care.

We can deliver these services thanks to a number of local organizations who graciously partner with us.

The Ottawa Mission’s DYMON Health Clinic is located at 55 Daly Ave and is open:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 8AM – 4PM
  • Thursdays: 1 – 4PM

The clinic is closed for lunch between 12 – 1PM and closed on weekends.

Primary Care

In partnership with Ottawa Inner City Health, nurse practitioners and on-call physicians provide vital healthcare.

This includes consults, immunizations, screenings, checkups, and treatment to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, who may otherwise have no access to a family doctor or regular primary care.

Dental Care

Volunteer dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants provide emergency, restorative, and dental care to Ottawa Mission clients and vulnerable community members who may otherwise not be able to access or afford dental care.

This includes, exams, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, partials, and dentures.

Hospice Care

People who are homeless have a far greater risk of premature death than those who are not.

The Ottawa Mission’s Diane Morrison Hospice provides compassionate palliative and end-of-life care to those who are experiencing homelessness or have specialized healthcare needs.

Eye Care

Led by Dr. Maberley of The Ottawa Hospital, eye consults, care, and treatment are available to Ottawa Mission clients and vulnerable community members who may otherwise not be able to access or afford eye care.

Prescriptive eye glasses and reading glasses are also available for eye clinic clients thanks to Essilor, as they provide the voucher letter that allows our clients get free prescription glasses after their eye exams.

Specialized Care Clinics

Valued partners such as The Ottawa Hospital, Bruyere Hospital, The Royal, and community healthcare practitioners volunteer at the clinic to provide essential healthcare services to Mission clients and vulnerable community members.

Clinics include:  chiropractic, smoking cessation, foot care, psychiatry, infectious disease care, and more.
