I Get More Than I Give: Kevin’s Legacy Gift
26 August 2026

“I get more than I give.”
A volunteer and donor
A monthly donor to The Ottawa Mission, Kevin has helped lift people out of homelessness and hunger as a Champion of Hope for well over a decade.
Kevin has always felt blessed for the many opportunities life has given him. Understanding that not everyone is as fortunate, he became a monthly Mission donor to help pass those opportunities on to those who may need them the most.
But when life threw him a curveball in the form of a health issue, Kevin sat down with his family and wrote out his will.
“I made sure my daughters were looked after. Then I thought, if I can, I want to leave something behind so that I can continue supporting The Ottawa Mission, even after I’m gone.”
With the help of his financial planner and alongside his family, Kevin bequeathed a legacy gift to The Ottawa Mission.
One day, that gift will help many people in need.
In the meantime, Kevin fully recovered from his health challenge and is making the most of every new opportunity life gives him. He’s retired, and is keeping active and heathy through triathlons, temporarily ‘un-retiring’ for contract work, and volunteering with us here at The Mission!
“The Ottawa Mission provides such a necessary and wonderful service. Having given regularly over my life, leaving a legacy gift felt important.”
