The Ottawa Mission gratefully accepts gifts in the form of securities. Donations of publicly listed securities are exempt from capital gains tax, making this one of the most attractive ways you can help provide food, shelter and hope to people in need.
If you donate securities to The Ottawa Mission directly, you won’t pay any capital gains tax normally associated with the sale of securities. And you’ll receive a tax receipt for the full value of your donation.
To donate a gift of securities and take advantage of the tax savings, please complete our Gift of Securities Form.
To ensure your gift is received by December 31, 2025, please initiate the transfer no later than Monday, December 15, 2025.
