Dr. Keith McFarlane was a clinical, correctional and forensic psychologist who practiced in Ottawa for over 30 years. Keith worked with marginalized adults and youth who had spent their lives without much social or economic advantage.
He understood how lack of resource and opportunity profoundly impact choices and outcomes, as well as mental health and wellbeing. He firmly believed that with resources, support and positive coping strategies, people could live more happily and successfully. Keith was a committed cognitive behavioural therapist and believed people could change the choices they made and the lives they led.
It is for these reasons that his family could think of no better way to honour his memory than to set up the Dr. Keith McFarlane Fund at The Ottawa Mission.
This fund will give people the psychological services and supports that could truly change the course of their lives. Keith’s family is very appreciative to everyone who is able to make a donation to it.
