Sam Arseneau

In 2006 while attending the University of Ottawa, Sam Arseneau was approached by his uncle to create a MAC based network for his uncle’s pharmacy.

From there, SupportMyMac was born.

In the beginning, they worked largely with residential clients all over the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Through excellent results and references, they began expanding their client base more toward business. In 2015 they won Ottawa’s Fastest Growing Companies Award from the Ottawa Business Journal.

Today, the company has grown to provide a wide range of IT support for a variety of industries, and support a large portion of Eastern Ontario including Ottawa, Kingston Toronto and even Montreal in both official languages.

Sam lives with his wife and new born in Ottawa. SupportMyMac are currently in the process of analyzing our WiFi network for the new medical clinic, and will be engaging with us in future volunteer opportunities.

I have always been involved in the community, whether it be serving on the Board of Legal Aid Clinics, or volunteering with vulnerable populations. As someone relatively new to Ottawa, I was looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community and I heard about the Ottawa Mission and the types of programs/services it provides from a former colleague.

What really inspired and excited me was hearing from the individuals who work within the Mission and use its services. Having had the chance to tour the Ottawa Mission and see the types of services it provides to the homeless and the extent of the Mission’s impact, I am not only impressed but would be honoured to be part of this network.

The Ottawa Mission impacts the lives of thousands of residents of Ottawa each year. I have always been passionate about creating sustainable change for vulnerable populations and I hope to be able to contribute towards this incredible organization through YPN.

I look forward to working with a group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about contributing to the Ottawa community.

I believe Ottawa’s young community and business leaders need to step up and lead by example. We live in an amazing city, but we are not immune to social issues.

The Ottawa Mission Foundation’s YPN has provided a much needed platform for the next generation of Ottawa leaders to raise awareness about homelessness and poverty issues in the city by acting as ambassadors to the Ottawa Mission, promoting its amazing services and helping raise money for the Mission Foundation

I have been so inspired by opportunity to see first hand the amazing work the Ottawa Mission is doing in the community that I wanted to become more involved.

As a commercial real estate lawyer, I enjoy helping my clients grow their businesses, and as a member of the YPN I am excited about supporting the Ottawa Mission in helping our city’s most vulnerable build and enrich their lives.
