Remembrance Day is a time for all of us to pause and reflect upon the tremendous sacrifices of our men and women in the military – both past and present – and their vital work to maintain our freedom and keep peace in the world. Here at The Ottawa Mission veterans of all ages have come through our door over the years for many reasons.
Some come for meals, some stay at the shelter for a time, and some are seeking help to deal with traumatic experiences and addiction. No matter why they come to The Mission, we are humbled by what they have endured in the name of peace, and we are honoured to provide them with food, shelter and treatment to help them heal.
And on November 11th, a minute of silence will begin our daily Chapel service.
We will remember.
