It’s fitting that Janine and Curasa were selected as co-valedictorians of an FSTP graduating cohort. Not only did they become friends within the program, but they had also travelled a similar road beforehand.
Both were new to Ottawa and looking for fresh starts. Janine was changing careers and knew her future lay in cooking, but didn’t have the experience, nor resources to pursue it. Curasa had a similar passion for cooking, and having just finished a local addictions treatment program, was looking to restart her life. They both found the FSTP.
After 4 months, they stood tall at their graduation. But their parallel paths wouldn’t diverge after that day: both planned to attend Algonquin College to further their culinary studies.
