Ottawa Mission Case Manager
Sleeping in a bed at an emergency shelter shouldn’t be a long term situation for anyone. But figuring out a plan to get life back on track can be difficult for some people. Marc Gallant is a Case Manager at the Ottawa Mission.
He typically has a caseload of around 20 individuals to which he offers guidance and support. His clients are often dealing with a variety of issues and need ongoing help to resolve them.
Some need help to address problems like addiction, unemployment or lack of supportive housing. Others may have mental health concerns and with Marc’s help, they’ll get connected with resources inside or outside of The Mission to deal with that. “My goal is always to help my clients get out of the shelter and back into their own home” says Marc. “Once they do that, I can continue to offer some support for up to 3 months. One of the best parts of being a Case Manager is seeing clients achieve their goals and witnessing the satisfaction that it brings to them.”
