Ever wonder what Giving Tuesday is all about?
What began as a simple idea in 2012 has grown into a global movement of generosity. Each year, on the Tuesday after Black Friday (this year, December 2), people across Canada and around the world come together to give back and support the causes that matter most to them.
When you give to The Ottawa Mission this Giving Tuesday, your gift will be matched by our generous partner DYMON. We chose green to represent this campaign, the colour of hope, and new beginnings to showcase the transformative power your compassion has for our neighbours in need.

Giving Tuesday is The Mission’s biggest digital fundraising campaign of the year. Your gift will provide TWICE the warmth, safety, and hope to people in need, especially through the cold winter months.
At The Mission, we’re more than a shelter. We offer hot meals, safe beds, and vital supports like mental health care, addiction recovery, and job training that help people in need rebuild their lives. Your Giving Tuesday donation will go twice as far to support those who are struggling take their first steps toward independence and a brighter future.
Join us at Chef Ric's for a special Giving Tuesday meal
On Tuesday, December 2, The Mission’s social enterprise, Chef Ric’s, will be serving a special Giving Tuesday green meal for anyone to purchase! Every bite makes an impact.

Meal Price: $7.99
All proceeds from the special meal go to support The Mission. Plus, if you make an additional donation at the restaurant, you’ll get a free green cupcake!

From November 28 to December 3, Juice Dudez is donating 50% of all sales from their Dr. Green smoothie to The Ottawa Mission. Packed with kale, lemon, mango, and spinach, Dr. Green is more than a delicious boost – green is the colour of hope, and every sip helps provide nourishing meals and support to people in need this Giving Tuesday.
