Diane’s Thank-you Letter
Thank you for giving so generously to The Ottawa Mission. Lives are changed with every gift you make, and your compassion at this time of year as the weather gets colder means warmth and shelter for those who need it most. Each and every day, people come through our door in search of help and hope.
Some are looking for the basic necessities of life – food, clothing and shelter. Others struggle with addiction or mental illness and need our support to get their lives back on track. Our reward, which we share with you, is to celebrate as individuals achieve important milestones in their lives – sobriety, a good job, a home – things that they thought were out of reach.
Dan is just one example. When he came to us, Dan had a serious anxiety disorder, and although he had worked all his adult life, his illness cost him many jobs and he no longer had a place to live.
Dan received several months of care and counselling at The Mission and then successfully completed our Food Services Training program. He is now working full time in a restaurant and living in his own apartment. It is because of your donations that we have the privilege of sharing with Dan and so many others the joy of new possibilities. Thank you so much.
May God bless you for your gift of hope. If you have any questions concerning your gift, please call 613-234-1155.
With sincere appreciation,
